Medina appointed Smiley municipal judge

The city of Smiley has a new municipal judge after appointing Sheila Garza Medina to the position during a special called meeting on Monday, March 24 at City Hall.

Medina also serves as the Cuero municipal judge, a position she was appointed to in July 2024. She succeeds the late Gary J. Schroeder, who passed away last year. Schroeder had also been the Cuero municipal judge at the time of his death.

Schroeder’s wife, Laura Schroeder, will continue to serve as the Smiley municipal court clerk.
