Nixon-Smiley Community Fest scheduled

The Nixon Area Chamber of Commerce and the Smiley Bantam Activity Group have joined forces to create Nixon-Smiley Community Fest — a free, fun event for the whole family.

The festivities will take place from noon to 1 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the intersection of North Congress Avenue and West Third Street in Nixon as well as at the Nixon Social, 120 W. Third St.

The event will include live music from the Logan Ryan Band, Brandon Ford, Chad Anderson, Sonic Soul, Josh Evans, Felix Pompa, Jeremy Alvarez and Tiffiny Dawn. It will also feature vendors, kids games, a silent auction, food and fun. The Nixon-Smiley High School band is also expected to perform, along with the Nixon-Smiley little, middle school and high school cheerleaders.
