Raymond Philip Roeber, 85, of Gonzales, died Thursday, February 24, 2005. He was born in Gonzales County on January 1, 1920 to the late Max W. and Elsie Korff Roeber, of Gleina, Germany and Shelby, Texas, respectively. He founded Roeber Electric in 1972 and retired in 1994. He was a 50 year member of the Hermann Sons Lodge and served as treasurer for 40 years. He was active with Germania Farm Mutual for 15 years and a member of the First Lutheran Church. He has farmed and ranched his own land since 1950 having raised chickens, hogs and cattle. He married Mildred Rose Zella on October 22, 1942 in Gonzales.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Zella Roeber of Gonzales; son, Phil Roeber and wife Charlie of Gonzales; two grandchildren, Kelli and Presley Roeber; one brother, Walter Roeber of Monahans, Texas.

Funeral services were held at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home in Gonzales on Friday, February 25, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ildiko Rigney officiating. Interment followed at the Gonzales Hermann Sons Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Robert Roeber, Doug Roeber, Barry Miller, James Miller, Bill Berger and Bill Breitschopf.

Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church Vision 2004 Building Fund.

Seydler-Hill Funeral Home of Gonzales was in charge of arrangements.
