Rum Run supports Gonzales Main Street

Posted

The Gonzales Main Street Program is sponsoring the first annual Rum Run on Saturday, Sept. 10, with check-in from 9-11 a.m.

The slogan is “why run when you can rum” and the event is organized to revitalize and support Main Street Gonzales.

Receive t-shirts and rum cups at check in. The “run” will begin at 10 a.m., with participants encouraged to brunch at one of our downtown restaurants first. The most important meal is the one you eat before drinking, organizers noted.

Beginning at 10 a.m. participants may begin visiting Main Street merchants and start the “run.” No set time limit, travel downtown at your own pace and enjoy all that Gonzales has to offer!

While the official “run” ends at 2 p.m. you may continue to enjoy specials that many downtown merchants have to offer with many restaurants and hot spots continuing the “run” the rest of the day Saturday.

Sponsors for this fun inaugural event include Texas Farm Bureau Insurance, GVEC, HEB, the City of Gonzales, Purple Cactus Potteri, Shear Designs, Peach Creek Antiques, Vintique Bandita, Come & Crepe It, Studio E, Chill Zone, Alpha 1 Construction, Robert W. Bland (Attorney at Law), Lockhart Bistro, Angels & Outlaws, KB’s Auto Station, Sudz Car Wash, 321 Pop Up, Junkyard Hippie, Logan Insurance, Gonzales Chamber of Commerce, San Antonio Distillery, Tattertorn Treasures, and BYK.

Anyone over 21 years of age may participate in the event, with the monies raised going directly to help the Main Street Program with continued growth and to promote downtown Gonzales. All donations to this event are tax-deductible, and for any further questions, concerns or comments please contact britneycaka@gmail.com.
