Third annual Nutcracker production is coming to Gonzales

It’s time to dust off your holiday spirit and get ready for Come and Take it Dance’s third annual production of The Nutcracker!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, at noon and 7 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m. These performances promise to be a magical highlight of the new year, offering breathtaking artistry and whimsical storytelling for the whole family.

This year’s Nutcracker is not just returning — it’s leaping into a new realm of wonder and enchantment. The Come and Take It Dance team has completely rebuilt the set, trading their nine-foot flats for towering 12-foot ones, creating a more immersive experience than ever before. From the twinkling magic of the Land of Snow to the sweet delights of the Land of Sweets, the stage will transport you to another world.

Adding to the magic, Ariana Dewing and Brandon Forrest will reprise their roles as the radiant Sugar Plum Fairy and the noble Cavalier, dazzling audiences with their elegance and precision. The studio is also thrilled to introduce a very special guest artist, McKenzie Tipton, who will debut as the Snow Queen, gracing the stage with poise and power.

But that’s not all — this year, they’re bringing a showstopper to the Chinese Tea Dance: a 30-foot red dragon! This magnificent addition, inspired by the Chinese Year of the Dragon, celebrates power, strength, and good fortune. With every graceful movement, the dragon will bring vibrant energy to the stage, making this year’s production one for the history books.

Behind the scenes, this extraordinary production wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of H-E-B, GVEC, GVTC Foundation, Caplin Foundation, and the City of Gonzales. Your support ensures that the studio can continue sharing the magic of ballet with the local community year after year.

Tickets for this spectacular event are on sale now at www.comeandtakeitdance.com. Don’t miss your chance to witness the enchantment and celebrate the new year with an unforgettable journey into the world of The Nutcracker.
