Thompsonville Crime Watch to hold Active Shooter Education

The Thompsonville Neighborhood Crime Watch is inviting the public to attend an Active Shooter Education at the Thompsonville Community Center, 2774 County Road 423, Waelder, on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

Refreshments will be provided by the Thompsonville Community Church at 6 p.m., with the meeting at 6:30 p.m., with an opportunity for questions and answers.

Sgt. Michael Monaghan is one of the principal instructors for the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) and Live Threat Engagement Training (LTET) and will be our speaker.

He is a 17-year veteran with the Texas Department of Public Safety as a Master Peace Officer, and is assigned to the Reality Based Training Unit, Education, Training, and Research Division, where he is responsible for the development and implementation of continuing education classes within the Department.

Sgt. Monaghan holds a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice-Law Enforcement from Texas State University and an advanced instructor certificate from the Texas Commission with the Law Enforcement Board.
