Gonzales residents have not one, but three opportunities to have spooky fun for Halloween as separate events will be held at the Gonzales Memorial Museum, the JB Wells Expo Center and in downtown Gonzales.
On Friday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. will be Movie Night at the Museum, featuring the 2012 Tim Burton 3D stop-motion animated science fiction classic, “Frankenweenie.” Bring your family, friends and lawn chairs for this special movie night, which has free entry to the public. Snacks will be available for purchase to benefit the museum.
The second annual Spooky Trails at JB Wells will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the JB Wells Expo Center parking lot. Admission is $10 per person, cash only. This walking experience, which was first held in 2022, is guaranteed to give the scare of a lifetime.
Last year’s event was canceled due to inclement weather, but so far, the weather on Oct. 26 is predicted to be a few clouds from time to time with winds at 5 to 10 mph and only a 19 percent chance of rain and a low of 68. For more information or questions about this event, contact 830-672-6558.
Finally, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, will be the Downtown Spooktacular, which will offer some spine-tingling family fun! Hosted by the women-owned businesses of downtown Gonzales, start off at the Gonzales EDC office and follow the Trick or Treat Trail to collect sweet surprises as you stroll along the haunted path in a festive, fun atmosphere.
Show off your spookiest or silliest outfit for a chance to win fang-tastic prizes in the Costume Contest and explore wickedly awesome vendors, crafts and more at the Street Fair. There will be games and activities to keep the fun going, so bring your family and friends and enjoy a boo-tiful evening!
