The Waelder Lady Wildcats traveled on the road Friday, Oct. 18 to take on the Prairie Lea Indians.
The Lady Wildcats won their first district match of the season in a three-set sweep of Prairie Lea (25-18, 28-26, 25-23).
Waelder snapped a 19-match district losing streak, dating back to the 2020 season; the last time the Lady Wildcats won a district match was a four-set win over Runge at home Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020.
Waelder sit in third place in District 28-A; if the Wildcats sweep the series from Prairie Lea, they’ll clinch a playoff berth.
The Wildcats will go on the road for their final two road matches against Fayetteville (Tuesday, Oct. 22) and Round Top Carmine (Friday, Oct. 25).
