Allen Gene Janecek, DVM, 72, of Gonzales, Texas, passed away on July 5, 2024, after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by family. He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and will be deeply missed.

Allen was born on October 24, 1951, in Moulton, Tx. where he spent his formative years. He went on to attend Texas A&M at College Station where he became a veterinarian. Throughout his career, he was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and passion for helping animals. He often said that he liked animals more than most people.

More than anything, Allen was a devoted father and grandfather. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced. His memory will be cherished by all those who knew and loved him.

In his free time, Allen enjoyed working on his many projects around the clinic and house. He was also extremely interested in landscaping and never hired someone to do something he could learn to do himself.

Allen is predeceased by his father, Frankie Janecek. Allen is survived by his wife, Julia Janecek, his daughter, Heather Rene Pape and husband, Brandon, and their two children, Kaden and Gage, his son, Justin Allen Janecek and wife, Elizabeth, and their three children, Emma, Wesley, and Ruby, and his daughter, Holly Ann Armstrong and her husband, John Ryan and their son, Gene Elliott.

The family is thankful for the compassionate care he received from Dr. Garth Vaz and his wonderful nurses and staff, the nursing staff of Gonzales Memorial Hospital, and Alora Hospice.

A memorial service and reception for family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Eastside Baptist Church with Pastor Jacob Pena of Gateway Fellowship Church officiating.
