Apaches football season tickets announced

The Gonzales Apaches football season is just around the corner and fans can now renew their season tickets

Gonzales athletics announced their season ticket renewals from Monday, July 15 through Friday, Aug. 2.

Season tickets will be available to the public Monday, Aug. 12 through Friday, Aug. 30.

The Apaches will have five home games against Central Catholic (Friday, Aug. 30), Pleasanton (Friday, Sept. 20), Smithville (Friday, Oct. 4), Navarro (Friday, Oct. 18) and Salado (Friday, Nov. 1).

--CENTRAL CATHOLIC—

The Central Catholic Buttons finished their season with a 3-8 overall record; and finished fourth in TAPPS Division I District 2 with a 1-3 district mark.

The Buttons clinched a playoff berth in 2023, but were knocked of the playoffs in the first round by Bishop Lynch.

--PLEASANTON—

For the third season in a row, the Gonzales Apaches will take on the Pleasanton Eagles.

Last season’s contest was canceled in the first quarter due to a thunderstorm; in 2022 Pleasanton beat the Apaches, 37-14, at Apache Field.

The Eagles finished their 2023 season with a 3-6 record overall and finished District 15-4A-1 with a 1-4 record and missed the playoffs.

--SMITHVILLE—

The district opener will be against a familiar foe in the Smithville Tigers at Apache Field.

The Apaches and the Tigers have been district opponents since 2020; both teams have two wins against each other, with the most recent win for Gonzales coming in a 45-33 road win over the Tigers last season.

Tigers finished their season 4-6 and finished District 12-4A-2 with a 2-3 record and missed the playoffs.

--NAVARRO—

The Navarro Panthers will one of the new teams the Gonzales Apaches will face in district for the 2024 season.

The Panthers finished their season 9-4 with a second-place finish in District 13-4A-2 with a 4-1 district record and were regional finalists.

--SALADO—

The Apaches will close out their home schedule and district with the Salado Eagles.

Salado finished with a 2-8 overall record and a 0-4 District 11-4A-2 record in 2023, missing the playoffs.
