BASKETBALL: Lady Mustangs even record with win at Comfort

The Nixon-Smiley Lady Mustangs jumped out to an early 21-15 lead and held on to defeat the Comfort  Deer, 41-38, in a road non-conference game on Tuesday, Dec. 21.

Nixon-Smiley took a 13-8 lead at the end of the first period and stretched that lead to six at the break at 21-15. In the third period, Comfort was able to trim the lead to just two at 28-26, but the Lady Mustangs outscored the Deer, 13-12, in the final period to preserve the win.

Nixon-Smiley improves to 10-10 overall. They were to host their own tournament on Dec. 28-30.
