Billy F. Suitt

Billy F. Suitt, 75, native of Gonzales, TX and longtime resident of Raceland, LA passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

“Cowboy”, Vietnam War veteran, diesel mechanic and chemist, Billy lived a long and interesting life. He enjoyed shooting and fishing and always with his grandsons. He consistently shared in their lives through a myriad of events including choral and instrumental music, theater, sports, and awards ceremonies. Together with his wife he spent many a weekend getaway dining in the very best restaurants of New Orleans. Sunday’s meant family and a giant plate of sushi. And he never passed up a glass of good bourbon.

Billy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Murlene Suitt; son, Maxwell Suitt, beloved daughter-in-law Fumie; grandchildren, Abigail Pellerin, Kei and Akira Suitt; siblings, Donirose Johnson, Sandra Gilkerson and Phil Suitt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Mary Ann Suitt; son, Joseph Michael Suitt.

The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm, Wednesday, June 5, 2024 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Friends may leave their condolences to the family by visiting www.seydlerhillfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations to charity of one’s choice.
