Francisco “Frank” Rosales, 73, of Gonzales, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 16, 1950, to his parents Jose U. and Porfiria Rosales in Yoakum, Texas.

Frank had a sociable personality, and he was quick to make strangers into friends. He often made his rounds at the local coffee spots in Gonzales. However, his favorite was Mi Lupita’s Taco House and they enjoyed him too with a good conversation over coffee and a taco. He was a hard worker and he loved providing for his family. Frank enjoyed watching western movies, mystery, and detective shows. He made his health a priority so he worked out at Thrive and he would also walk at the track.  He loved his Tejano and conjunto music and he loved to dance. He loved to drive his truck with the windows down. He would also give his friends a ride to the store. Frank collected pocketknives; he always carried one in his pocket. Frank was also a jokester and had a very suave charm to him. He also had a relationship with God.

Most of all Frank loved his family. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. He loved his children and was proud of all their accomplishments, especially for his son Christopher for making detective sergeant and his grandson for making detective in Victoria. He was also proud of his grandson Jordan that served in military. He always looked forward to his facetime calls with his granddaughters in Pennsylvania and he loved driving to his daughter Michelle’s house to spend time with her family having dinner, drinking coffee, and watching movies. He enjoyed many moments like this with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He leaves behind lots of memories and laughs for his family and friends to remember him by.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Janie Rosales, his son Christopher Rosales (Veronica Serna), his daughters Cynthia Sanchez (Raul) and Michelle Cantu (Bobby) and his brother Johnny Rosales. He is also survived by his grandchildren Desiree Garcia (Roberto), Jordan Salinas, Ayeli Salinas, Jeremiah Cantu (Amanda Gonzalez), Romy Cantu, Justus Cantu, and Jesiah Cantu, and his great grandchildren Alina Garcia, Catalaya Garcia, Kylan Salinas and Jeremiah Cantu, Jr.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jose U. and Porifira Rosales, his son Francisco “Frank” Rosales Jr., his great-grandson Kyrie Salinas, his sisters Carmen Garza, Sophia Garcia, Delfina Montes, and Rosa Rosales, and his brothers Trinidad Rosales, Joe Rosales, Oscar Ramos, Santos Ramos and his nephew Oscar Ramos, Jr.
