Gonzales’ second annual Dog Extravaganza set for Sunday

Posted

Gonzales Dog Adoptions invites the community to their second annual Dog Extravaganza this Sunday, June 9, from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Episcopal Church, located at 721 St Louis St.

This event includes a dog parade, and a costume/fashion contest for those in attendance. Dress up your canine cutie and show off their style (be it unique, a more funny side, or their fanciest attire) and bring them to compete, and have fun! A variety of food trucks will be serving up treats for humans and dogs alike (pup cups & treats for the fur loved ones!), as well as other other vendors for the human family members and friends.

Among the scheduled events, (besides the aforementioned fashion contest and food trucks/vendors, are face painting, craft booths, T-shirt sales, and other fun and sun-filled (hopefully) events for the entire family, both human and fur! There will also be Blessing of the Pets by Father Robert, for those who are interested.

The Gonzales Dog Adoptions (GDA) people will have many adoptable dogs that will be trying to catch your eye at the event, so fill your eyes with all the fun to be had, but don’t over look those potential fur family members who are bound to capture your heart.

Donations are welcome, as well as sponsorship for this future outside events, with COVID-19 guidelines in place for the safety of the community. Hosts for this event include the Gonzales Dog Adoptions/Gonzales Dog Shelter, as well as Victoria Currie. While sponsorship positions are filled, please not only feel free, but encouraged to donate to the GDA in support of those pets who need a helping paw up.

Come one, come all, come big pets, and come small, to the dog extravaganza!
