Gonzales youth earn Eagle Scout honors

On Saturday, Nov. 9, Mark Burek, Diego Diaz de Leon and Dominic Vega Jr. earned the Eagle Scout rank, the highest achievement attainable in the Boy Scouts of America. The ceremony took place at St. James Catholic church, with Jesus Diaz de Leon as the MC. Burek is currently a junior at Gonzales High. He plans on pursuing a career in music education. Diaz de Leon is a senior, who has lettered in football, basketball and baseball. Vega is currently a senior and plans to attend Texas A&M.
