Headed to Nationals

Members of the G-Town Striders Track Club will be headed to New Orleans for the AAU Junior Olympic Games July 31 to Aug. 6. Fourteen athletes qualified to compete in 19 events. Samuel Benes will compete in the 400-meter run, Kendra Cavit will run in the 1,500 and 3,000 meter runs, Angelica Mathis will run the 3,000-meter race, Kenneth Cavit will toss the shot put, Keaundra Cray will throw the shot put and discus, Khelsea Cray will also compete in the shot put and discus, Tyvione Roaches will throw the shot put and discus, David Sexton will run in the 1,500-meter race, Carson Reese will run the 800-meter and 1,500-meter races, Krisslyn Sexton will race in the 400-meter run, Veronica Moreno will run the 800-meter race, Valeria Aguayo will run the 3,000-meter run and Misael Ontiveros will also run the 3,000-meter race. Pilgrim Baptist Church cafeteria from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Plates will include enchiladas, rice, beans, bread, chili and a desert for $6.50.
