Jacob Ramos

Jacob Ramos, 50, of Gonzales, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 5, 2022. Jacob was born September 14, 1971 in Gonzales to Jake Jalufka and Marcella Ramos. Jacob was raised by Manuel and Trina Magallanes, whom he called Mom and Dad.  Jacob was a wonderful companion to Cindy and dearly loved his family and friends.

Jacob had a huge heart and an abundance of love for all. He had so very many treasured friends that loved him as much as he loved them. He was a conscientious man, always putting other’s needs before his own. Jacob enjoyed country music, hunting, fishing especially playing the lottery scratch off tickets, loteria bingo games and dominoes. Jacob enjoyed BBQing and having family and friends over to eat his marvelous bbq.

Jacob is survived by his beloved companion of 28 years, Cindy Carrizales of Gonzales, father, Jake Jalufka of Gonzales, his mother and father that raised him, Trina and Manuel Magallanes of Cost, sons, Dustin Robinson of Post, Jacob Pape of Gonzales, brother, Frank Jalufka of Gonzales, aunts, Annie Tieken, Yolanda Crabtree (Jeff), Mary Schwausch, Frances Anderson, Teresa Magallanes (Daniel), uncle, Pomposo Ramos, Jr, many cousins and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Marcella Ramos.

The family will receive friends from 9 am to 11 am Wednesday, August 10, 2022 in the Abiding Word Lutheran Church. Funeral services will follow in the church at 11 am with Rev. David Schautteet officiating. Interment will follow in the Gonzales Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Justin Schwausch, Jered Carrizalles, Joe Ryan Carrizalles, Wayland Pellitier, Charles Cheatham, Brandon Carrizales, Jacob Leal, and Michael Contreras. Honorary pallbearers: Dustin Robinson, Manuel Magallanes, and Daniel Magallanes. Memorials may be made to the Gonzales Catholic Cemetery Assn.
