Judy Carolyn Wright

Judy Carolyn Wright of Spring, Texas passed away peacefully early Monday morning, July 25, 2022 at her residence in Spring, Texas. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when her family needed her. She also had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community while residing in Victoria and Gonzales, Texas. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Gonzales.

Judy’s interests included her passion for sewing, quilting, and making her children’s clothes. Judy had made a quilt for each of her grandchildren. She took in ironing for those who couldn’t afford the dry cleaners. Early on she was the executive assistant to the CEO of Gonzales Memorial Hospital. A position she cherished as a woman with a loving and caring heart. She loved to dance to country music and was delighted to know her children loved dancing as well.    

Judy was born November 27, 1939, and married Jack A. Starr in April 1960 and Orval L. Wright in November 1976. She is survived by her husband, Orval Wright, Laneville, Texas; brother, Larry Bruchmiller, Victoria, Texas; sons, Jack Starr and wife Justine of Spring, TX, Scott Starr and wife Michelle, of Spring, TX, daughter, Teresa Wright of Laneville, TX, son, Alan Wright of Fort Pierce, FL., 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held in Judy’s honor on Thursday, July 28 at 10 AM in Gonzales Memorial Cemetery located 1 mile east of Gonzales on U.S. 90A with Rev. Hollas Hoffman officiating. Pallbearers: William, Christopher, Thomas, Michael, Nicholas, and Johnathan Starr.
