June Rose Carley, known to most as ‘June’, passed away on June 24, 2024, while surrounded by her family. She was born on June 17, 1938, to Joseph and Carrie Halliburton, in Gonzales County, Texas. She was the twelfth out of twelve children. She was proceeded in death by four brothers; Johnie, Ray, Joseph, and an infant baby boy and seven sisters; May, Viola, Joyce, Lonie, Jewel, Dorothy, Opal and niece Patsy Patten. June was raised in Waelder, and she was a Waelder Wildcat. She loved athletics.
She married Elmer ‘Bud’ Carley on December 19, 1953 and they began to raise their family. June cherished her family the most in life. June loved to go fishing, camping, playing dominos and bunco. She was a member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church and attended Two Rivers Bible Church. June was very faithful in her study of the Word of God. She was a joy to everyone she met, and her smile lit up the room as she entered.
June is survived by her four children: Charlotte Sanders of Harwood, Texas, Jeff Carley (Kim) of Hockley, Texas, Phil Carley (Vicky) of Canyon Lake and Sheila Spivey of Cypress, Texas. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren; Kimberly Lee (Chris), Khristy Kubran (Adrian), Janelle Sanders, Jeffrey Carley, Joshua Carley, Ashley Spivey and Justin Spivey and eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 28, 2024, from 5 to 7 pm at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Saturday, June 29, 2024 in Seydler Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Clint Lowery officiating. Interment will follow in Harwood Cemetery. Pallbearers: Chris Lee, Josh Carley, Jeffrey Carley, Garett Ludwig, Justin Spivey, and Adrian Kubran. Honorary Pallbearers: Kevin Carley and Johnie Halliburton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Memorial Heights Baptist Church or Two Rivers Bible Church, both in Gonzales, Texas.
