Gonzales 8B shows signs of improvement

The Gonzales Apaches 8B boys basketball team “had a tremendous game of improvement,” according to coaches, coming up a bit short against Navarro in a loss last week. Israel Trevino led the way with four points while Braxton Crane, Gabriel Davidson, Luke Avant, Phillip Gonzales and Noe Garcia all had two points each.

Gonzales 8A plays ‘best game to date’

The Gonzales Apaches 8A boys team had their best game of the year to date, shooting down the Navarro Panthers last week. “The Apaches played outstanding on defense as a team, and as well as playing together on offense,” coaches reported. Angel Martinez led the way with 11 points followed by Ryan Cantu with eight, Mason Navejar with seven, Jorge Amador with six and Colbie Pullin, Josh Esparza and Dustin Schuette with two points each.

Lady Apaches 7B ends season 5-2

On Monday, Jan. 28, the Gonzales Lady Apache 7th Grade B Team basketball defeated Cuero 19-17. Kelly Breitschopf scored 10 points, Christie Reyna scored four points, Sam Baker and Sara Vorheis had two points each and Ainsley Holub scored one point. The 7th grade B team ended the season 5-2. “Everyone played hard this season and did an outstanding job,” coaches reported.

Lady Apaches 8A take down Cuero

The 8th grade Lady Apache A team basketball team defeated Cuero with a final score of 28-20. Maria Vazquez scored 10 points, Nancy Nino scored 7 points, Madison York scored three points and McKenzie Hodges, De’Adrian Dilworth, Carlee Ramos and Kayden Wilke scored two points each.

7th grade B team beat Cuero

The Gonzales Apaches 7B boys basketball team knocked off the Cuero Gobblers 17-14. Jessiah Barr was the leading scorer with six points. Landon Holub scored four points, Parker Storey scored three, Jaydee Longoria scored two points and Cree Stowers scored two points.

7th grade A team lost to Cuero 49-29

The Gonzales Apaches 7A boys basketball team lost to Cuero 49-29. Max Castillo was leading scorer with 17 points.T.J. Riojas added 8 points, while Carlos Martinez scored and Joshua Gaither scored two points each. Their record on the year is now 5-6.

Gonzales Apaches 8B team beats Cuero

The Gonzales Apaches 8B came home with a victory against the Cuero Gobblers. Philip Gonzales led the way with nine points while Tyrann Gonzales and Aden Hernandez added four points each and Gabriel Davison and Noe Gonzales both had two points each.

Apaches 8A fall short

The Gonzales Apaches 8A fell short against the Gobblers on Monday. “They had a hard-fought game right until the end,” coaches reported. Ryan Cantu led the way in scoring with 15 points while Angel Martinez dropped in 10. Josh Esparza scored nine points, Colbie Pullin added six, Jorge Amador had five, Mason Navejar had two points and Ethan Crouch and Kason Tieken each had one point.
