Kathey Joe Barnhill

Kathey Joe Barnhill, 71 of Gillett, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 in Floresville, Texas. She was born on October 28, 1952, in Nixon to Frieda Beth "Betty" Barlow and Bennie Louis York. 

Although her most cherished occupation was undoubtedly loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she worked as a tax assessor and later the tax appraiser for Karnes County.

Kathey is survived by her loving husband Marvin; children Traci Barnhill (Edward Favors) and John Barnhill(Priscilla); grandchildren Keegan Favors, Justin Barnhill, Michelle Barnhill and Katharine Barnhill; great grandchildren Presley Barnhill, Whitlee Barnhill and Ryver Barnhill; siblings, Penny Cardwell, Tina Yaws, Jodi York, Bennie York, Jr. (Tammy), and James York (Laurie); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Linda Collins and Lisa Montgomery. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, May  24, 2024, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, Texas. Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024, 10:00am at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, Texas. Interment to follow at Gillett Cemetery.
