STEVEN TOVAR CANTU, JR. AKA POUCHON

On August 5, 2024, Steven Tovar Cantu Jr. at the age of 37 went to be with our Lord and Savior.

Steven AKA Pouchon was born May 13, 1987, to Steven Sr. and Rosa Maria Cantu in Gonzales, Texas.

He spent the last 7 months in and out of the hospital trying to get better to come back home; but God had other plans. He graduated from Gonzales High School in 2006. He then went to go get his CDL and after that he started working with various trucking companies such as Swift, EF Ehrig & Sons, and the last one he worked at was ARA Transportation. He loved to travel out of state. When he was not driving, he loved spending time with his family. He was a big Dallas Cowboys fan. Also, had a dog named Chapo.

He was preceded in death by his father Steven Cantu, Sr. One brother, Daniel Cantu.

He is survived by his mother Rosa Maria Cantu of Gonzales, Texas. His sister, Maricelia Cantu of Gonzales, Texas. His brother Alex and wife Victoria Cantu of Gonzales, Texas. His sons Steven Cantu III and Sebastian Cantu of Gonzales, Texas. Nieces and nephews, Marissa, Oscar, Edward, Midaya, Alex Jr., Mario and Jesus all of Gonzales, Texas. Along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. Both maternal and paternal grandparents. Along with aunts, uncles and cousins.

A rosary will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at 7 P.M. Doors will open at 6:30 P.M. A mass of resurrection will be Monday, August 12, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. Doors will open at 9.00 A.M. Interment will follow at Gonzales Memorial Park.

Pallbearers are Alex Cantu, Jr., Mario Cantu, Jose Cantu, Joseph Cantu, James Cantu, and Eduardo Cantu. Honorary pallbearers are Steven Cantu, III, Sebastian Cantu, Marissa Herrera, Oscar Herrera, Edward Herrera, Miday Cantu and Jesus Cantu.
