Stop the Bleed training scheduled for May 19

Posted

Allen Linebrink, deputy chief of operations at Gonzales County Emergency Services District #1, invites the community to attend a training event at 5:30 p.m. May 19 at Fellowship Hall, 426 Saint Paul St., Gonzales.

May 19 is National Stop the Bleed day and the committee on trauma, in conjunction with the American College of Surgeons, invite the community to learn more both at this upcoming, in person, training event, and at bleedingcontrol.org.

The training will involve stopping a bleed to save a life, with the appropriate actions, techniques and recommendations of care.

There is no better time to learn life saving techniques than the same month as National Nurses Day (May 6) and week (May 6-12), Women’s Health Week (May 13-19), Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week (May 20-26), and National Older Americans Month.

This training event will accommodate 100 learners, with advanced registration appreciated. Participants may also register the day of the training event, at the door.

For further information or to register call 830-203-0240 or email allen.linebrink@gonzalescoesd1.org.
