Apaches, Lady Apaches basketball received all-district recognition

The Gonzales Apaches and Lady Apaches basketball teams took home all-district recognition for their 2023-24 season.

--Apaches—

The Apaches finished the season with a 7-24 record and finished sixth in District 28-4A with a 4-8 record.

First team all-district:

Junior Gavin Lekgega

Second team all-district:

Junior Jermane Upshaw

Honorable mentions:

Senior Weston Ruddock (academic all-district) , senior Carlos Martinez and freshman Damion Hunt

--Lady Apaches—

The Lady Apaches finished their season with a 12-20 record and finished third in District 28-4A with a 7-5 record.

Gonzales finished the season as bi-district finalists in the 4A UIL girls basketball playoffs.

First team all-district:

Junior Bella Aguero (academic all-district), junior Kilee Schwausch (academic all-district), and sophomore Issabella Ikard (academic all-district).

Second team all-district:

Senior Haley Cantu (academic all-district) and junior Skcarlet Cerda (academic all-district).

Honorable mentions:

Sophomore Jayda Glass (academic all-district) and freshman Jordyn Gonzales (academic all-district).

Academic All-district:

Senior Kimbery Dolezal, sophomore Amiyah Ibarra and sophomore Mckenzie Gillette.
