August William "Boyce" Etlinger Jr.

August William "Boyce" Etlinger, Jr.  age 73, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024.

He was born November 30, 1950 in Moulton to August William "Buster" and Lexie Kurtz Etlinger. 

He served in the U.S. Air Force reserves. He was formerly the foreman at Martin Printing in Victoria, former owner of Reese's Print Shop in Gonzales and was a rancher. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Moulton Knights of Columbus, Moulton American Legion and Hermann Sons. He enjoyed going to family events, tending to his cattle, playing dominos, feeding birds, watching baseball, hunting and spending time with his dogs. He was always willing to help people and was a community volunteer.

Survivors: wife, Sharon Kubicek Etlinger; daughters, Angela Rabel (Christian) and Amanda Turlington (Jeremy); grandchildren, Emily Rabel, Annie Rabel, Dalton Turlington and Delaney Turlington; sister, Gussie Orts Machalec; mother-in-law, Evelyn Kubicek; sister-in-law, Margaret Klekar (Robert); numerous nieces and nephews; mother of his children, Rickie Jo Bonner.

Preceded in death by: parents; sister, Lexie Marie Rothbauer; brothers-in-law, Gene Rothbauer, Richard Orts, Paul Machalec, father & mother-in-law, Jim and Rosalie Kubicek; brother-in-law, John Kubicek, and nephew, Bruce Rothbauer.

Visitation 5:00-6:30 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moulton. Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moulton with Rev. Gabriel Maison officiating and assisted by Msgr. Dennis Darilek and Deacon Kenneth Fishbeck. Burial at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery with military honors provided by Moulton American Legion.

Pallbearers: Christian Rabel, Jeremy Turlington, Dalton Turlington, Brandon Klekar, Josh Moeller, Roddy Gonzales and Clinton Rothbauer, representing his father, Bruce. Honorary pallbearers: Darell Etlinger, Robert Klekar, Gary Henrichs, Mike Biehunko, Bobby Hoyer, Gary Cooper, Albert "Butch" Darilek, Ernie Wolter, members of Moulton Knights of Columbus #3244, Moulton American Legion #392 and Moulton High School class of 1969.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Moulton Knights of Columbus, Moulton American Legion, Moulton Volunteer Fire Department or donor's choice.
