Nazario Maldonado

Nazario Maldonado went to join the Lord on Monday, July 29, 2024, at his home in Gonzales surrounded by his family. He was born on December 24, 1945, to his parents Paola and Martin Maldonado in Agualeguas, Nuevo Leon, MX.

Nazario was married in 1971 to Juanita Roberta Perez, together they raised their 8 children. They resided in Gonzales where Nazario worked at Southern Clay for 37 years before his retirement. You could often find him at Independence park; whether it was fishing by the dam or hanging out with his work buddies, he enjoyed his time there in the outdoors. Gardening was also an outdoor hobby he truly enjoyed. The Dallas Cowboys were his favorite team to watch during football season, and he also loved watching boxing. He also enjoyed his road trips to Mexico to see his sister. Above everything else, Nazario enjoyed weekends with his family, spending time together and bbq-ing.

Nazario is survived by his children Hector Maldonado (Shelby Molina), Miguel Maldonado (Christi), Joseph Maldonado, Cynthia Martinez (Vincent), Margarita Maldonado, Angela Landa (Gosfrey), and Maria Maldonado. He is also survived by his 22 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, his sister Cleofas Villarreal and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Juanita Roberta Perez Maldonado, his son Martin Maldonado, his parents Paola and  Martin Maldonado, his sister Herlinda Villarreal and his brother Robert Maldonado.

A visitation will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, August 02, 2024, from 9:00am to 9:30am, a holy rosary will be recited at 9:30am. A mass of resurrection will follow at 10:00 am, officiated by Fr. Jason Martini and Deacon Alfonzo Moreno. Interment will take place at St. James Catholic Cemetery.
