Brenda Lea Hendershot Schneider, 58, gently took the hands of Angels as they carried her to heaven on Sunday, July 20, 2025. Brenda was born on September 22, 1966 in Gonzales to Larry and Jean Hendershot. She met the love of her life while attending Southwest Texas State University, Michael Miles Schneider. Both were students at the time, and it wasn’t long after Michael introduced himself when they started dating. They married April 4, 1992 in the Oakwood Baptist Church in New Braunfels. She had been a member of the Harwood Baptist Church.
Brenda was raised in Gonzales and after graduating from GHS, she worked on her Bachelor of Science degree at Southwest Texas State. She was amazing with numbers, a gift that helped her serve as an excellent bookkeeper in several capacities. She loved “antiquing” with Michael while walking all around the Round Top Antique Fair. Brenda was a country girl at heart and truly enjoyed ranching and all the work that goes into successful ranching. She loved attending rodeos and was a twenty-year volunteer for the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo and she was a long time Ambassador of the S.A. Stock Show and Rodeo as well.
Brenda lived to cook, bake and read. She loved her kitchen and would try new recipes she thought to be interesting. She delighted in helping people and providing gift baskets of fine Christmas treats to brighten their holidays. Brenda was always kind to others as in John 13:35 instructs, “Love one another. As I have loved you,” this was a principal by which Brenda lived her life, noble. Selfless and loving.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Michael Miles Schneider, her mother-in-law, numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and beloved cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be held at 9 am Friday, July 25, 2025 in the Harwood Cemetery with Rev. Todd Craven officiating. Friends may leave their condolences to the family by visiting www.seydlerhillfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers or plants, please make memorials in Brenda’s name to the American Cancer Society.
