Cynthia Gail Smith, 68, of Gonzales, passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 5, 2025. Cynthia was born March 22, 1956 in Hemphill, Texas to William Huey Warren and Bonnie Jane Edwards Warren. She married Ross Smith on June 24, 1988 in Las Vegas. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church.
Cynthia moved to Gonzales with her family at a young age. She attended and eventually graduated from the Gonzales School System. She had been a member of the Gonzales Riding Club where she became an accomplished Barrel Racer and frequently led the Riding Club in the local parades. After high school Cynthia went to work as an accountant for an oil field company.
She was an excellent cook and exceptional baker and took the time to teach her grandchildren how to cook and bake as well. When not working in the kitchen, Cynthia loved to sew and work on her arts and crafts projects.
Cynthia will be remembered as a very sweet lady whose bright smile warmed the hearts of all she greeted. She was naturally funny, and one could always listen as she talked to herself and frequently answered herself as well. Cynthia loved animals, especially her dogs that were more family members than pets.
Cynthia is survived by her adoring family, husband, Ross Smith, daughters, Jennifer McRae, and Sarah McRae, son, Wade Hill, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Heart-to-Heart Hospice. Friends may leave their condolences to the family by visiting www.seydlerhillfuneralhome.com.
