Elaine Marie Hajovsky Brzozowski

Elaine Marie Hajovsky Brzozowski, age 75, of Gonzales, Texas, passed away at home on May 16th, 2026. She was the firstborn to Bernard and Loretta Kristek Hajovsky on November 1, 1950 in Shiner, Texas.

At the age of 17, Elaine graduated from Gonzales High School where she played in the band and was a majorette. She attended college at Texas A&I Kingsville obtaining a degree in Education. She began her teaching career at the young age of 20 at East Avenue Elementary and then at North Avenue Elementary as a 4th grade Math and Science Teacher. She later worked in curriculum and instruction for the district before her retirement in 2006.

She married the love of her life, Donnie Ray Brzozowski, Sr. on June 26, 1971, at St. James Catholic Church followed by a beautiful reception in her parent’s backyard. She is survived by her husband; her children, Donnie Ray Brzozowski, Jr and wife Natasha of Gonzales, TX, Angie Marie Bolom and husband Jarod of Shiner, TX; and Marci Elaine Hughes and husband Chad of Shavano Park, TX. Her Siblings: David Hajovsky (Vicki), Jeanette Collins (Scott), Judy Greutman (Ed), Lori Thomas (JT), and Bonnie Barton (James). Brother-In-Law: Ronnie Brzozowski (Janice). Special Cousin: Donna Walkoviak (Joe). She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Bernie Hajovsky.

She was a loving Grandma to Peyton Eileen Brzozowski, Braden Patrick Vacek, Lainee Marie Bolom, Tori Elaine Hughes, Cody Lee Whitfield and Harley Renee Cruz. And Great Grandma to Davey Cruz.

Music was an important part of Elaine’s life. She started singing in the St. James Catholic Church choir at the age of 13 which later led her to start the first youth choir in the church. Elaine sang at numerous family weddings, celebrations and masses. She will be remembered for her strong voice and vibrant smile.

A visitation will be held at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home on Thursday, May 21st from 5:00-7:00 pm with a rosary following. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James Catholic Church on Friday, May 22nd at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial at Denton Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers: Chad Hughes, Jarod Bolom, Cody Whitfield, Braden Vacek, John Collins, and Matt Easley. Honorary Pallbearers: Kristi Ludwig, Sharonda Axel Smith, Krystal Pullin, Katelyn Shelton, Ronnie Brzozowski, Scott Collins, Ed Greutman and JT Thomas. Memorials may be made to the Gonzales Education Fund c/o Gonzales Independent School District.
