Gonzales track teams compete in Cuero meet

The Gonzales track teams traveled to Cuero High School for the Jack Adcock Relays Thursday, March 7.

--VARSITY—

Several Apaches varsity athletes finished in the top 10 in their respective events; Davonte Smith finished third in the 100m dash and Daevien Pitts finished fifth in the same event; Rocky Gallegos finished seventh in the 200m dash and fifth place in the triple jump; Ckristofer Ramos finished eighth in the 1600m run and seventh in the 3200m run; Travis Malveaux III finished first in the 300m hurdles; and the relay teams finished seventh in the 4x100, eighth in the 4x200 and ninth in the 4x400.

The Lady Apaches finished strong with Tiana Smith finishing second in the 110m dash and 10th place in the triple jump; Jayda Glass finished eighth in the triple jump; Mallory Clack finished seventh in the shot put; Macy Sample finished fourth in the discus and eighth in shot put; Syrenity Smith finished ninth discus; Yaritza Angel finished fourth in the 1600m run and second in the 3200m run; Marianelly Martinez finished sixth in the 3200m run and eighth in the 1600m run; Jordyn Gonzales fifth in the 3200m run; Serenity Reyes finished ninth in the 1600m run; and the Lady Apaches relay teams finished fourth in the 4x100k, fifth in the 4x200 and ninth in the 4x400.

--JUNIOR VARSITY—

Jude Hataway finished ninth in the 3200m run; Isaiah Balderas finished 10th in shot put; and Kevin Veliz finished eighth in the discus.

Jaelyn Ramos finished eighth in the 800m run and 10th in the 300m hurdles; Kea’anna White finished second in shot put and fourth in the discus; Anyanh Browne finished seventh in the shot put and 10th in the discus; Anayah Bolden finished sixth in the discus; Gabriela Torres finished third in the high jump; and the relay teams finished fourth in the 4x100, fifth in the 4x200 and sixth in the 4x400.
