Jeannine Margaret Hoopingarner

Jeannine Hoopingarner, 88, of Temple, Texas died Monday, October 14, 2024. She was born June 4, 1936 to Otto and Olga Kuntshik the oldest of four children. She graduated from Gonzales High School in 1954. She married Albert Dwight (Sonny) Hoopingarner October 4, 1954.

In 1963 Jackie DuBose invited her to join Beta Sigma Phi. She moved to Temple in 1994 and then joined there in 1995. She served as President in each chapter throughout the years. Last serving as President in 2017. Had perfect attendance many years and received Woman of the Year more than once. She cherished the friendships of each sorority sister in both Gonzales and Temple.

She joined the Pilot Club of Gonzales- Was a charter member beginning in 1973. Served as the 5th president and Received the first pilot of the year award for her work on restoring Riverside Community Center and getting it ready for meetings and public use. When she and dad left Gonzales in 1994, she left Pilot club as they did not have a club in Temple.

Over the years Jeannine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and homemaker. She was a business owner of Fashion Fabrics in Gonzales, she loved traveling and making new friends.

She is survived by her children Donis Jackson (Bill), Robert Hoopingarner, Sunny Lee Fritsche (Ken).

Grandchildren: Kimberlea, Elissa and Blaine, Kristi and Jacob.

Great GrandChildren: Brolan, Kimber and Kamdyn, Bridgette, Addison and Kaliah and Tatum.

Sisters: Chris Cartwright and Carol Sweeney (Ken)

She also leaves behind a special loved one Lana Lindeman and her nephews Alan and Aaron Kuntscik and her much loved dog, Bear.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband and 2 grand daughters Gabby and Lauren Hoopingarner, her brother Henry Kuntshik (Verlene), brother in law Donald Cartwright and nephew Ken Sweeney II and niece Shari Anderson.
