Lady Apaches open 2024 volleyball season

The Gonzales Lady Apaches have returned to the volleyball court for the start of the 2024 season.

The Lady Apaches will enter the volleyball season with familiar foes in their district this year.

Gonzales will be in the same District 28-4A with Cuero, La Vernia, San Antonio JFK and San Antonio Memorial; San Antonio Fox Tech moved up to District 27-5A and YWLA moved down to District 27-3A.

The Lady Apaches will kick off the season on the road with a dual match against the Yoakum Lady Bulldogs and the Shiner Lady Comanches in Yoakum Tuesday, Aug. 13.

Gonzales will participate in two tournaments this season: in Cuero (Thursday, Aug. 15 to Saturday, Aug. 17) and Schulenburg (Thursday, Aug. 22 to Saturday, Aug. 24).

The Lady Apaches will take on Hallettsville, Edna, Weimar, St. Joseph Victoria, Weimar, Nixon-Smiley and Karnes City as non-district opponents.

Gonzales will open up district play on the road against the La Vernia Lady Bears.

The Lady Apaches finished the season with a 16-22 record (8-4 third place district record) and were named bi-district finalists.
