Lady Mustangs softball earns top honors in All-District

The Nixon-Smiley Lady Mustangs finished the season as bi-district finalist for their 2024 softball season.

The Lady Mustangs earned top honors in District 26-3A All-District.

Junior Haliee Houseton was named Offensive Player of the Year for her 25 hits, 30 RBIs and six home runs and was named Academic All-District

Senior Kendall Amaya was named Pitcher of the Year for District 26 and was named Academic All-District.

First Team All-District:

Senior infielder Nichole Ivey, junior infielder Emiley Granados (Academic All-District), freshman outfielder Grace Gomez, sophomore utility player Tyra Ortiz (Academic All-District).

Second Team All-District:

Freshman infielder Marysol Granados (Academic All-District), junior outfielder Brooke Crisp, freshman utility player Kaelyn Mendiola.

Honorable Mentions:

Sophomore Coralie Barilett (Academic All-District), sophomore Sadie Walden
