Nixon-Smiley Lady Mustangs take court for 2024 season

The 2024 Texas high school volleyball season has begun for the Nixon-Smiley Lady Mustangs.

The Lady Mustangs play their first match this year on the road against the Yorktown Lady Wildcats Tuesday, Aug. 13.

Nixon-Smiley will compete in three tournaments this season in Cuero, Beeville and Runge.

The Lady Mustangs will be in a new district this season in District 26-4A; district opponent Luling will join them with new teams Poth, Karnes City, Stockdale, and Goliad.

Nixon-Smiley will take on Falls City, Yoakum, Three Rivers, Pettus, Gonzales, Marion, Runge and Yorktown again (return match) during their non-district slate.

The Lady Mustangs will kick off district play Friday, Sept. 27 against the Stockdale Lady Brahmas.

Last season, the Lady Mustangs finished the season with an 8-19 record (1-8 seventh place finish).
