Marion Goodall Wootton Jr. or better known as Butch was a Cowboy of many hats. He was a cherished friend, avid team roper, respected horseman, innovative businessman, beloved father and son but most of all a cowboy.
God came down and visited Butch the morning of September 27th, 2024 and said "The Cows are out! We've got work to do" so he saddled up his horse and rode on!
Butch was born in Gonzales, Texas on May 16th, 1957. He graduated from Gonzales High School in 1977 and later would go on to be involved in the community by being a business owner. When Butch was 19 years old he was the youngest hired hand at The King Ranch. Butch lived a life to remember as a True American Cowboy. His passions were deeply imbedded in the western way of life but most importantly to him he loved spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by friends and family and so many other individuals in the team roping community.
The family will be hosting a celebration of life for Butch in the near future and will publicly share the details when it is time.
