Martha Granado Mendez, 73, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, at Ascension Seton Hospital in Round Rock, surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Gonzales, she was the daughter of Hilario “Eddie” Granado and Dionicia Gonzales, and a 1970 graduate of Gonzales High School. She married the love of her life, Willie Mendez Jr., and together they welcomed their son, Ruben Mendez, who remained the center of her world and heart. Willie passed away eleven years ago, and Martha never stopped carrying his memory.
Martha was known for her strength, warmth, and deep devotion to her family. She endured many hardships throughout her life but remained grounded in love and faith. She found joy in visiting relatives in San Antonio and Albuquerque and was a devoted attendee of Faith Family Church in Gonzales.
She is survived by her son, Ruben Mendez of Austin; sisters Rose Ann Martinez, Yolanda Mendez (husband Alfred), and Hope Guevara; brothers Augustin “Buddy” (wife Laura) Granado, Joe Ray Granado, and Andy (wife Lisa) Rodriguez; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willie, her parents, and her brother Ruben Granado.
Martha will be deeply missed and remembered always.
