Patricia Ann “Pat” Granberry Reid, 82, of Gonzales, left this world to take up her residence in her cabin in the corner of Glory Land on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Pat was born December 22, 1942 in Cuero to Erwin and Wilma Stockton Granberry. She moved to Gonzales when she was 5 years old. Pat loved her school years and graduated from GHS in 1961. She started working at Warm Springs in the Medical Records Department a few months later.  She had met her only love, T.J. Reid, when she was 14 years old and they married on June 1, 1962, spending the next 63 years together. Pat was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

Music was a big part of T.J. and Pat’s lives. Pat had been part of the Texas State Choir as a senior in high school, and she got to spend a week in a dorm at the University of Texas. She and T.J. took several Gaither Cruises, and they were blessed to lead in several weeklong revivals with T.J. leading the music and Pat at the piano.

Pat drove cancer patients to their doctor’s appointments for 5 years and she received a true blessing by getting to know so many precious souls. She said they were more of a blessing to her than she was to them.

Pat started teaching Sunday School when she was 16 and taught 2nd graders through adult ladies at 5 area churches until her health would not permit her to teach anymore. Pat and T.J. loved to travel and took at least 2 long trips every year. Their two most memorable trips were a long car ride to Washington D.C., and a 16-day tour to 4 Hawaiian Islands. They also enjoyed 7 cruises together.

Pat and T.J. were blessed with 2 wonderful children, son, Mark Douglas Reid “Becky”, and daughter, Darla Deneen Hadley “Michael”. They were also blessed with 5 grandchildren, James III “Amy”, Heather, Benjamin “Robin”, Jennifer “Zack”, and Michelle “Josh”, 9 great-grandchildren, James IV, Olivia, Emsley, Elizabeth, Lucille, Warren, Alexis, Ellery, and Nova. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Douglas Andrews and granddaughter, Heather Haynes.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Monday evening, June 9, 2025, in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Tuesday, June 10, 2025 in the Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow in the Gonzales Masonic Cemetery.
