In Loving Memory of

Patrick Jerome Stonum

“Pat”

May 25, 1964 – July 1, 2026

Patrick Jerome Stonum, affectionately known to family and friends as “Pat,” passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, at the age of 62. Patrick was born on May 25, 1964, in Temple, Texas, to James Wallace Stonum and Willie Maude Tollerson. Throughout his life, Patrick brought warmth, kindness, and unconditional love to everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though he faced unique challenges, he met each day with remarkable courage, a gentle spirit, and a smile that could brighten any room.

Patrick was raised with tender care and unwavering devotion by his aunt, Lucille Harper. Following her passing, that torch of love was passed to his cousin, Willie Mae, who continued to nurture and support Patrick throughout his life, ensuring he was always surrounded by family and care.

Facing life's challenges with unwavering determination, Patrick achieved a proud milestone when he graduated with the Gonzales High School Class of 1985. His perseverance and accomplishment remain an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A vibrant member of his local community, Patrick took great pride in attending the vocational workshop for individuals with special needs. It was there that he built a true "village"—a remarkable circle of dedicated staff members whose devotion extended far beyond the traditional workday. Their commitment to supporting Patrick in the community during off-hours was a testament to the profound impact he had on everyone he met.

Patrick found great happiness in life’s simple pleasures. Watching reruns of his favorite television show, Sanford and Son, and spending time with friends cheering on his beloved San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys on the television. But his greatest joy was cheering on the Gonzales Apaches under the glow of the Friday night lights, where he proudly supported his hometown football team.

Pat’s laughter was contagious, his heart was genuine, and his presence was a blessing to all who knew him. He had a special gift for reminding others to slow down, appreciate the little things, and find joy in every moment. His life was a beautiful example of love, resilience, and unwavering kindness.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the dedicated caregivers, nurses, physicians, and medical professionals whose compassionate care and support brought comfort to Patrick throughout his journey. Your kindness and devotion will never be forgotten.

Though Patrick’s earthly journey has ended, his loving spirit, unforgettable smile, and the precious memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23
