Penny Christian

Penny Christian passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025, in Gonzales, Texas. She was 70 years old. Penny was born on December 13, 1954, in Fukuoka, Japan. She was a graduate of Gonzales High School Class of 1972.  Penny worked as a Registered Nurse in the Gonzales area for over 40 years providing care and love to all she served.

Penny is survived by her husband, Larry Behrendt; son John Peterek (Mica); five grandchildren; sister Dawn Oliver and many other extended family members, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Dred W. Martin Jr. and her mother Margaret Elaine Spahn Martin Rose; brothers Dred W. Martin III, John Martin, Glen Martin; sister Teresa Washichek.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Northeast Baptist Hospital San Antonio and PAM Hospital Luling, and our friends and family for all their love, care, and support.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gonzales Christian Assistance Ministries (GCAM) or the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas Camp Capers Scholarship Fund.

All services are under the care and direction of Seydler - Hill Funeral Home.
