Russell Duane Ivey

Russell Duane Ivey, born on November 28, 1974, in Floresville, Texas, was the beloved youngest child of George and Linda.

Russell was proceeded in death by his father, George Harrison Ivey and his sister Ronda Lynn Ivey.

Russell is survived by his mother Linda Louise Ivey, his wife Tammy Lynn (Rodriguez) Ivey, daughter Ronda Tapanga Ivey (Karter), son Seth Harrison Ivey, daughter Zoey Madison Ivey, granddaughter Sariya Serenity Ivey-Riley, sister Carmen Ivey Radicke (Russell) and sister Charlotte Ivey Bruce, as well as numerous nieces and nephews

Russell graduated from Nixon-Smiley High School in 1993.

In 1994, Russell married his high school sweetheart, Tammy Rodriguez. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Tapanga, Seth, and Zoey. Last year, Russell and Tammy celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.

Russell began his career working for Ernest Foods/Super S Foods in Nixon, Texas. Later, he worked as a Sales Representative/Driver for Coca-Cola, Dr Pepper, and Blue Bell, embodying the spirit of a hardworking family man who rose early to serve his community.

In 2022, Russell graduated from Zion School of the Prophet and entered ministry work with Tammy, who graduated the following year. They attended Jerry Savelle Ministry International (JSMI) to work towards the completion of their pastoral licenses. Through their ministry, Russell and Tammy touched countless lives, serving God's Kingdom at Nation Fellowship Christian Church in Smiley, Texas, and speaking to congregations across the state.

Russell was active in the Nixon Area Ministerial Alliance, dedicating many hours to youth ministry. Russell also drove the local school bus. He was always ready to help with yard work, handyman tasks, and mechanic work. While WWE, Elvis, and Lynyrd Skynyrd was once his passions; Russell’s ultimate calling was leading and winning souls for Christ.

Russell's legacy of love, service, and dedication to his family and community will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
