Allie Marie (Baker) Valenta

Allie Marie Baker Valenta, 84, of Gonzales, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024.  She was born in Gonzales July 12, 1939 the daughter of Zilmon J. and Florence Townsend Baker.

She married George Peter Valenta on April 22, 1957.  She worked alongside her husband raising cattle, turkeys and chickens for many years.  Later she attended nursing school and became a LVN and worked in nursing homes and provided home health care for many years.

She is survived by her daughters Veronica Sue Camarillo and husband Carlos of Gonzales, Jacqueline Marie Dickens and husband Rodney of Canyon Lake, and Debra Kay Franklin and husband Thomas of Gonzales; brother George Peter Valenta, Jr. and wife Maisy of Gonzales; sisters Juanita Jane Iley and husband Kenneth of Gonzales, and Elizabeth Ann Baker and Rusty Vanwyck of Yoakum.  Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Buford R. Baker and sister Evelyn Jo Pfuhl.

Private family graveside services will be held at the Valenta Family Cemetery 10 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2024.
