Anita Lucille Purdom Fox

Victoria — Anita Lucille Purdom Fox (82) of Victoria, TX went to be with the lord on July 10, 2024.

Anita was born on October 20, 1941 to Clifford H. Purdom and Marceline Fisher Purdom in West Palm Beach, Florida. Anita was raised in the Salty Community between Rockdale and Thorndale, TX. She graduated from Thorndale High school in 1959.

Anita married Bruce Fox on May 5, 1962. Together they welcomed two daughters, Terri and Gina in Austin, TX. They later moved from Austin to Fort Worth, San Antonio and then to Gonzales, TX in 1971. There Anita and Bruce ran the Hoskins Men’s Ware for many years. Anita later opened her own business called the “Hobby Hut.” In the late 80s, Anita and Bruce moved to Alice, TX and opened their store in the oil field business, “Foxco. Supply.” To meet people in Alice, Anita enrolled into Bee County College where she graduated in 1989 with an Associate’s degree in Law enforcement and Police Administration. She also went to cosmetology school and became a nail technician. Anita later be- came a member of the Literacy Council in Alice where she help people learn how to read. Victoria, TX became home for Anita in 2003. Anita was a woman with many interests and creative pursuits. She loved using her hands to crochet, Macramé and color. As a child she played the piano in her local church. Anita could play music by ear and pick up any in- strument to create a tune.

Anita was known best for her generous heart and words of wis- dom. She was passionate about helping others. Anita joined Park- way Church in Victoria where she volunteered at the church’s office. She was involved in many ministries at Parkway. She found joy in opening her home to family, friends and strangers who became friends. Anita was a host for an international student exchange program and provided housing for medical students the past 10 years. She loved donating each year to the Angel Project at Christmas. Anita made a positive impact on many individual’s lives and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Anita is survived by her two daughters Terri McMahan (Sam) of Victoria, Gina Bozka (Bubba) of Shiner, TX. Son, Adam Salinas and Family. Sister, Susan Pur- dom Wooten (Lavoy) of Santa Fe, TX. Two grandchildren, Landon Bozka (Bailey) and Carly Nevlud (Nick). Great Grandchildren, Baylen and Baylor Bozka, and Taylor Nevlud. Anita’s faithful little visitor, Bell (cat).

Anita is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Marceline Purdom, and Former Husband, Bruce Fox.

Visitation for family and friends was Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 10-11 am at Parkway Church. Funeral services immediately followed at 11 am with Pastor Kim Simmons officiating.

Graveside services was held at 3 pm at Salty Cemetery.

Pallbearers : Sam McMahan, Bubba Bozka, Landon Bozka, Nick Nevlud, Adam Salinas, Jordan Salinas. Honorary Pallbearers : Thomas, Stephanie, Ethan, and Seth Eisman

The family would like to thank the staff with Hospice of South Texas for their loving care of our mom, grandmother, and mother- in-law.
