Linda Katherine (Figley) Tallant

Linda Katherine (Figley) Tallant, aged 89, passed away on July 15, 2024, in Luling, Texas. Born on May 7, 1935, in Perry, Oklahoma, Linda was the cherished daughter of the late Preston N. Figley and Anna Ruth McKelvey Figley. She grew up in Denver City, Texas, and furthered her education at Texas State College for Women, leading to a fulfilling career as an Occupational Therapist.

Linda was a private Southern lady, deeply admired for her love of all animals and her passion for bird watching. Her family was the center of her world, and she is lovingly remembered by her children, Billy Parker, Jr. (Lori) and Ruth Ann Parker; her grandchildren, Megan Benson (Jason), Tanner Hardcastle (Hayley), Mackenzie Parker, Quinton Parker, and Hudsyn Parker; and her great-grandchild, Jackson Benson. She also leaves behind her brother, Preston N. Figley, Jr., and sister, Rebecca Gravitt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nilon Tallant, and her ex-husband and friend, Billy Parker.

Graveside services will be held 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Slayden Cemetery, where family, friends, and those whose lives were touched by Linda are welcome to pay their respects.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Friends of Gonzales Animal Shelter, a cause dear to Linda’s heart. Her legacy of kindness, particularly towards animals, and her devotion to her family will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
