Clementine “Kiki” De La Rosa


In the early morning hours of May 9th, 2024, as the Angels were waking up, one was sent down for Kiki to bring her home.  She was born April 5, 1952 in Gonzales the daughter of James Reyna and Elisa Flores.

Kiki first met Manuel De La Rosa, Jr. in 1978 and later married on July 19th, 1994.  All in all they shared 46 years together as they journeyed through life.

Kiki worked with the Gonzales Community Health Center in medical billing and later with W.I.C. assisting young mothers with nutrition counseling and access to health services.  She then finished her long career working with the Texas Department of Health and Human Services where she retired.

She enjoyed gardening, especially her flower garden, cooking, reading and babysitting, she was always staying busy.  She was a member of St. James Catholic Church.

Throughout her career, Kiki followed many children from infancy to adulthood.  She will always be remembered as a kind and guiding influence in the lives of many.

She is survived by her husband Manuel De La Rosa, Jr. of Gonzales; sons Manuel De La Rosa III of Austin and Derek De La Rosa and wife Stacey of Pflugerville; granddaughter Sunny Lana De La Rosa of Pflugerville; sisters Ida Tyler and husband Clifton of Columbus, Lolly Reyna of Gonzales and Cindy Ramirez and husband Rueben of Bay City; brother Andy Flores of Gonzales.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with the Rosary being recited at 7 p.m.  The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2024 at St. James Catholic Church with Reverend Jason Martini officiating.  Interment will follow at the St. James Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers include: Richard Perez, Brian Garza, Jr., Andy Flores, Jr., Gerardo De La Rosa, Jr., Moises Rivera and Austin Brown.
