Cynthia Goode was born May 22, 1957, at Gonzales Hospital to Gloria Goode and Jeff Robert Goode Sr. She grew up on her parent’s farm in Mt. Eden seven miles outside of Waelder, Texas where she graduated from high school. She was a long-time member of Mt. Eden Missionary Baptist church; she was a member of the choir and also frequently sang alongside her mother, brothers, and sons for church programs.

Cynthia was a loving and devoted mother to her sons Michael and Jonathan whom she considered her pride and joy. She was a lover of music, comedy movies, and always strived to treat everyone well and to put others first. Although an introvert, she was known and well-liked by many for her kindness and self-deprecating humor. .

She graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. As a Registered Nurse she frequently worked at local rural nursing homes ensuring that residents got the best care possible. She served as Director of Nursing for a few different nursing homes, but in the end, she found working the floor and patient care to be the most fulfilling. To this day family members of residents at facilities that she worked at still stop her sons and note “you could always tell how deeply she cared.”

A graveside service will be held at Mt. Eden Cemetery by the Mt. Eden Baptist Church in Waelder, Texas on Friday, September 30th, 2022, at 10:00am

Services are under the care and direction of Seydler- Hill Funeral Home.
