David Earl Pool

David Earl Pool age 70 of Harwood passed into eternal rest on February 17, 2023 after an extended illness, including dementia/Alzheimer’s.  David was born August 30, 1952 in Austin, the third child of Claude D. and Bobbie Bennet Pool.  He grew up in Austin and graduated from John H. Reagan High School.  He is survived by his siblings, Rhonda Pool Malone, Sharon Pool Collins, Bobby Pool (Lynn) and Danny Pool (Sudie).  He is also survived by his niece Brandi Pool Sellepack (Steve) and her children, Matthew, and Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents and Stepmother Polly Pool.

For the most part, David was a happy guy, with a ready smile and witty comment.  He loved to fish and hunt and, while his health allowed, he liked to have a garden.  He enjoyed looking for rocks and arrowheads and being outdoors.  He loved Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and reminded us each time we saw him that his supply was running low.  He made walking canes and give him a roll of duct tape and he could repair/create anything.

David was a member of Hopkinsville Masonic Lodge #183 and enjoyed the many friendships he formed among his Lodge Brethren.  As long as his health allowed, he was an active and faithful member of his Lodge.

David will be greatly missed by his friends and family.  We are so thankful that he gave his life to Jesus, and we are confident that he is with his Lord and Savior right now – no more sickness and troubles.

Graveside services will be held, Tuesday, February 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Harwood Masonic Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Seydler Hill Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harwood Baptist Church, P. O. Box 96; Harwood Community Center, P. O. Box 80; Harwood Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 70, Harwood, 78632; Hopkinsville Masonic Lodge #183, 318 Penn Ave., Flatonia 78941; or a charity of your choice.
