Dorothy Ann Breitschopf Schmidt

Dorothy Ann Breitschopf Schmidt, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 18, 2024, in Austin, Texas.  Dorothy was born on October 20, 1937 to Joe Breitschopf and Emma Wilke Breitschopf in Gonzales County, Texas.  She spent her early years in Cistern, Texas and the family moved to Gonzales, Texas when Dorothy was 14 years old.  She graduated from Gonzales High School in 1956.  She worked in the accounting field and retired from IBM in Austin, Texas.

Dorothy loved country dancing and she was good at it.  She would go with her friends dancing until the last few years when the arthritis and dementia took over.  We know she is in heaven dancing and having a wonderful time.  Uncle Walter Wilke, be ready, mom is looking for you to dance with her.

Dorothy, Momma, Granny you are loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Jeffrey Kuntschik and daughter-in-law Gail Frey Kuntschik.

Dorothy is survived by her sister Ellen Lehnert of Gonzales, Texas.  Daughter Penny Kuntschik Brock of Pflugerville, Texas.  Son Darryl Kuntschik of Kingsland, Texas.  Grandchildren:  Patrick (Hillary) Brock, Sr., Natalie Brock, Dana (Wes) McCamy and Hailey Kuntschik (Adam Janak).  Great-grandchildren:  Patrick Brock, Jr., Payton Brock, MacKenzie Brock and Hudson Janak plus many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
