Dorothy worked as an aide and bus driver at Dewitt CoOp in Cuero, Texas.  In Hallettsville, Texas where she raised her family she also worked as a caretaker to many in her community. Dorothy enjoyed caring for others so much, she did not stop until she was 91 years old.

Mrs. Lindsay was most proud of her love of God, her faith, and her church. She was a member of Richardson Chapel UMC in Hallettsville.
