Edgar John Ducho, 91, of Gonzales, Texas – a beloved and devoted husband, received his Heavenly wings and went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2023.

Ed leaves behind his loving wife, Wilma Ducho, and with God’s Blessing they had been married nearly 67 years.

Ed also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Born to John and Mary Ducho in Moulton, Texas, Ed was one of four children, Dolores Bartek, Evelyn Darilek and Calvin Ducho.

Ed honorably served his country in the United States Navy, stationed at Bremmerton, Seattle. His deployment took him overseas on the USS CoCopa (ATF – 101) during the Korean War.

After completion of his military service and returning home, Ed met his most cherished love Wilma Wieting and they married May 5, 1956.

Ed unquestionably provided for Wilma with complete devotion and his love. They pursued a successful and exciting career in the restaurant business for many years working side by side at their own “Ducho’s Steakhouse” in Houston, Texas.  After moving to Moulton they continued to be very active and supportive of numerous activities in the community as well as when they moved to Gonzales, creating many memories with family and friends throughout those years. Their bond and life together touching those around them with a positive impact. Not only did they work together every day, but lived, vacationed, golfed, hunted and cruised together for all of their years. 

The following gentlemen will have the honor of carrying Ed to his final resting place:

Julius Bartek, Michael Darilek, Grant Wieting, Hank Wieting, Jarrett Wieting, John Wieting, Russell Wieting, and Scott Wieting. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Garces and Pat Zientk.

A visitation for Ed will be Friday, March 3, 2023 starting at 8:45 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Moulton, Texas followed by a rosary recited at 9:30 AM and a funeral mass at 10:00 AM, officiated by Father Gabriel Maison.  Burial will follow in the Moulton City Cemetery.
