Frances Marie Kuntschik

Frances Marie Kuntschik, 88, of Gonzales, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023. She was born January 27, 1935 in Gonzales to Prince Edward Decker and Thelka Frankenhauser Decker. Frances married Melvin Anton Kuntschik on July 10, 1954 in Gonzales.

Frances had worked as a florist for Polly’s Flower Shop and Person’s Flower Shop before going to work in the meat department at Wuest Grocery Store and retiring in 1990. She continued to create beautiful flower arrangements for many and various occasions.

Frances was described by many as a firecracker. She enjoyed camping, taking trips to Nashville or for that matter, trips to anywhere, she loved to travel. She was most passionate about family and delighted in time spent together with all of her family.

Frances is survived by her adoring family, son and daughter-in-law, Darin Bruce and Brenda Kuntschik of Gonzales, grandchildren, Anthony Kuntschik (Sandra), Tyler Kuntschik (Meagan), Anna Kuntschik, Christopher Kuntschik, Patrick Kuntschik (Naomi), Daine Kuntschik, Reba Kuntschik, Dallas Mudd (Cara) and Karma Chambliss (Glenn), numerous great-grandchildren, and daughters-in-law, Mary Esparza, and Margaret Kuntschik. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sons, Ricky and Chris Kuntschik and an infant brother, Douglas Decker.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Sunday, September 24, 2023 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 am Monday, September 25, 2023 in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Deacon John Klapuch officiating. Interment will follow in Hermann Sons Cemetery. Pallbearers: Will Scott, Rocky Quintero, Corey Kincaid, Cody Mashburn, Cameron Harris, and Tanner Greathouse. Memorials may be made to the Hermann Sons Cemetery Association.
